Want to become a citizen scientist for the day? Claytor Lake State Park invites you to participate in our Summer BioBlitz where visitors, volunteers, and park staff will try to find and identify as many species as we can throughout the park.
Participants are encouraged to download the iNaturalist smartphone app (iNaturalist.org) where they will upload their observations. There will be a demonstration on how to use the iNaturalist app to record your observations for this project beforehand. Everyone is welcome no matter what your experience level may be. This event will officially run until 2 p.m., but folks who'd like to continue on their own are more than welcome to. Please be sure to bring water/snacks, wear sunscreen/insect repellent, smartphones, binoculars, field guides, etc. Comfortable closed-toe shoes are recommended.
