Live Music
Nothing is more powerful than the impact of music on our psychology wellbeing. Music, is the type of thing that can instantly change our mood and at the same time introduce us to new things and new experiences. You can find all types of music in Pulaski County from beach music ushering the sounds of summer, to local rock bands and folk music. Being in Southwest Virginia there is also a strong interest in old time and blue grass music that echo the sounds of multiple generations of music.

Throughout the year there is a weekly Bluegrass Jam Session held at the Pulaski Senior Center where folks of all ages come together to play an instrument, sing, dance or just listen. Taking great pride in continuing and preserving the music of their heritage.
Down the road at New River Community College you’ll find the Fiddle, Banjo and Dance Club jamborees. They are a Crooked Road affiliate and have seen many talented musicians both instrumental and vocally gather at the college since 1991. This is a proud group of people that are like minded and interested in preserving and advancing old-time and bluegrass music. The club has also been known to host paid concerts that include bluegrass and country greats like, Doyle Lawson, Rhonda Vincent, Gene Watson, Dailey and Vincent, and many more.
Another monthly venue was added to the array of music offerings when the fine Arts Center of the New River Valley acquired the Listening Room. Where various styles of musicians gather once a month at the center.
Music fills the area parks during the summer from the Town of Pulaski, Jackson Park Music series sponsored by the Fine Arts Center to shores of Claytor Lake, at Rock house Marina. You can every style beach music, folk, to modern rock.
